Fixing Guides.
We have years of experience in actually fixing natural stone and can provide a comprehensive information service for fixing a stone floor.
The fixing of all natural stone is a longer and more specialised process than fixing ceramic tiles. A natural stone floor is rarely disturbed and it is therefore important that enough time is allowed for the various fixing processes.
The ideal fixing surface for natural stone is a dry, clean and dust free concrete screed. Always ensure that good quality adhesives, grouts and sealers are used. A thoroughly sealed floor will ensure low maintenance and durability. Different sealers and grouts should be used for different stones. For instance a white fixing adhesive should be used for stone such as marble and limestone etc, in order to avoid “shadowing”.
Specific adhesives and grouts should be used when under-floor heating has been installed. When fixing to a wood based surface, again, specific adhesives and grouts must be used.

Useful tip - Measuring a floor
Always allow at least 10% for wastage due to cuts. So for example if your floor is:
Kitchen Floor 5m2 x 4m2 = 20m2. Your order should actually be:
Kitchen Floor 5m2 x 4m2 + 2m2 = 22m2.
